Both the old and new Apple AirPods Pro models come with silicone-tipped earbuds and water-resistance. One of the most notable differences between the two generations of AirPods Pro is that the newer model comes with a MagSafe-compatible charging case, which means you can place these ‘buds near one of Apple’s convenient wireless MagSafe charging pads ($34) and they’ll stay securely in place, then start charging. If ambient sound modes are important to you, the new AirPods Pro have a distinct advantage over the also newly-released Apple AirPods (3rd Generation), as the Pros deliver active noise-canceling and transparency modes, while the 3rd-Gens don’t.
